First Impressions & Packaging

I always get so excited when I see that silver packaging that Fun Factory sex toys come in. Their toys come in a basic box in a sleeve with nothing particularly fancy. In the box, you get the Mr. Boss, a vibrating dildo, sans batteries, and a charging cable.

I rejoice, in a little nerdy way, every time a toy of mine is rechargeable. While the Mr. Boss is battery-operated, Fun Factory was kind enough to send me the “upgraded” kit. More on that to follow.

Let’s Get Physical

The design of Mr. Boss is a simple, realistic silicone shaft in black. Because the handle is somewhat sizable, it makes holding Mr. Boss easy. That handle is ABS plastic with three free-floating buttons to control the speed and patterns, and turn the toy on and off with one click.

You can upgrade the Mr. Boss vibrator with Hybrid Kit to make it a rechargeable toy. The Hybrid Kit includes a standard Fun Factory charger and a set of two rechargeable batteries. The way the Hybrid Kit works is by charging the rechargeable batteries when the vibrating dildo is plugged in.

Something to note: Fun Factory also has the Big Boss, the larger version of the Mr. Boss.

Materials, Care and Keeping

You’ll likely need to use a lot of lube with this vibrating dildo because the silicone is so sticky. I found that this vibrating dildo sucks up as much of the lube as it can manage. Because of that, water-based lube like Sliquid is ideal (I reviewed Sliquid and Slippery stuff over here). However, Fun Factory also has their own lubricant.

Mr. Boss is easy to clean with soap and water before and after each use. While it cannot be boiled or put in the dishwasher, as some of you may do, it can be sterilized in a 10:1 water:bleach solution for about ten minutes. This vibrator attracts lint like the dickens so keeping it in a cloth bag will minimize the collection of lint. Additionally, utilizing the Fun Factory Toy Cleaner for your lazy moments is a possible way to deal with the clean-up.

Mr. Boss in Action

Mr. Boss is a completely waterproof vibrator and can be submerged in the bath — yay! This is especially nice for clean-up because I don’t have to worry about damaging the toy while I’m cleaning it.

This vibrating dildo can be started by pressing the “Fun” button that most Fun Factory toys share. After holding it for a few seconds it’ll turn on and you can use the “+” and “-” buttons to cycle through the four speeds and six patterns.

The vibrations are deep and rumbly. You can hardly hear the Mr. Boss when it’s on the lowest vibration. That makes this a safe toy to use when people are in the other room.

My Experience with the Mr. Boss

Notably, this is the second boss that I own. I got the first edition of this toy, the Boss, that is a simple dildo. While the texture of the Mr. Boss silicone is more reminiscent of a Stronic toy rather than the original Boss. However, the construction of the toys are the exact same, down to the veins.

It’s not often a dildo becomes a vibrator so it is very exciting when the Boss upgraded to “vibrating dildo” status. I found that the vibrations of the Mr. Boss travel to the tip of the toy.

Even thought it reminded me of the Boss, a toy I used during a traumatic time in my life, I was able to comfortably use Mr. Boss. I believe that’s because my body was able to see the difference between the two of them. While the structure may be the same, the functionality makes it an entirely new toy.

Final Thoughts

I was happy with the Fun Factory Mr. Boss vibrator, I really was. I love how quickly you can turn the vibrations off. I enjoyed the Mr. Boss vibrating dildo a lot more than the dildo and used it both internally and externally as a clitoral vibrator. Want something bigger? The Big Boss is a larger version of the Mr. Boss.

Fun Factory has a non-vibrating version of Mr. Boss, the Boss dildo if you aren’t swayed by the vibrations. If you’re looking for a smaller vibrator, the Jam or other toys in the mini-series by Fun Factory could be something to consider.
