First Impressions of The Wish
Until the Wish, I’ve loved pretty much everything by We-Vibe. They were one of the first manufacturers that agreed to let me review for them, and I’ve been pleased with nearly everything they’ve give me: The Tango is now my favorite bullet (and it has fun little attachments now!); the Nova is my favorite rabbit; the Sync is my favorite couples toy, and the Rave is a weird internal/external vibe.
The Wish, though. It’s just…hard to use. Not because it sucks, trust me, it isn’t bad. In fact, I’m quite happy with Wish’s performance. However, the problem is the damn thing vibrates throughout the whole toy. Why’s that bad? Because it literally numbs my hand and made it nearly impossible for me to turn the damn thing off.
The Oops
As I mentioned previously, the vibrations travel throughout the body of the Wish clit vibe. It numbed my whole hand to the point where I could only turn the damn thing off by pressing with my nail. Hard. For someone without long nails, this could be an issue.
On top of that, this thing ain’t “whisper-quiet.” Don’t tell me something is whisper-quiet when it isn’t. That’s a huge pet-peeve of mine: false advertising. While it doesn’t travel throughout the whole house, you won’t be able to use this discreetly while everyone is in the other room watching TV.
I love squishy heads. The Je Joue Mimi is one of my favorite toys that Je Joue makes, which is hard to do. The head of the Je Joue Mimi Soft allows for pinpoint stimulation and is still firm enough, when pressed against the clit rather hard, that you can feel every single vibration.
The Wish is similar. It’s more akin to a dual-density toy. The inside of the toy is nice and firm but the outside squishes against my clit.
The vibrations are true to the manufacturer—strong and rumbly, just like the Tango and the Nova. Yas. Just, yas. But also no, just no, because it’s the vibrations that makes the experience with this toy more of a frustration than anything else.
But here’s what I like
I love that the Wish is molded in a curve. It nestles against my vulva beautifully because it vibrates through the whole toy. I could also use it to stimulate my breasts.
Like almost all the we-vibe toys, it an be controlled via app. I love that not only are there pre-set vibrations (good for some people, I’m not a huge fan), your partner(s) can create their own pattern and play with you in real-time via wifi. That’s just fucking hot.
In case you lose the manual, it’s displayed proudly on the site so you don’t miss out on anything.
You saw that the thing that bugged me most was the fact that the vibrations travelled throughout the toy, numbing my hand. I was tempted, at one point, to just let the fucking thing run out of charge so it would shut off without my help. I found it nearly impossible to apply the pressure needed to turn it off.
Here’s the shitty part: I didn’t come with this toy. I just couldn’t. I needed to press harder against my clit in order to get the pinpoint stimulation I needed and with a numb, weak hand, that just didn’t work. While I don’t come with every toy, it’s ideal if I do. Each toy creates a unique orgasm and although I wish I had that experience for you, I just didn’t.
When my frustration reached the max, I was tempted to put the toy on the ground and let itself run the charge out so I didn’t have to try to turn it off.
Who would this toy suit?
Because of how difficult it is to manage the control buttons, and this alone, I wouldn’t buy this for a friend. It’s just not worth the effort. I want a quick jack-off session a lot of the time, and I don’t want a toy to make my hand feel like I’m out of control.
Instead, I’d highly recommend the Tango if you’re just looking for rumbly vibes. If you’re looking for a toy that will hug your body, then the Mimi does have a bit more body but I have yet to review it. Another toy that has more body-mass is the Ooh Pebble. If you want something you can lay against your vulva, the Rave by We-Vibe is a great choice.
Will I use it again?
I honestly do not know. But the fact that I don’t know means that it’s safer to assume that I won’t. I love the power of the Wish but the functionality isn’t all that peachy. Jacking off should be a pleasurable experience, not a hassle.
But, as noted, I love the We-Vibe Nova, Tango, and the Rave has grown on me. Don’t rule out We-Vibe just because of my experience with the Wish. Instead, go ahead and read my other reviews and pick the We-Vibe toy that’s right for you.
