First Impressions and Packaging

The Zumio comes in a sturdy box that I’ll be reusing. Part of what makes a sex toy unboxing so fun is knowing that I can continue to use the packaging after the toy has been stored in my 16 drawers that house my massive sex toy collection. Inside the box comes a storage bag, a Micro-USB cable, an “inductive” charging station and the Zumio X.

In addition to the station, bag, and charger, the Zumio X comes with an extensive manual – one of the more complete manuals I’ve come across – and a cheat sheet in the format of a bookmark.

How about that box?

The sturdy box is inside of a sleeve that gives you any and all information you could possibly want about the Zumio X. I appreciate that in a sleeve, if you have any questions, see the toys’ sleeve. The box itself is discreet. No pictures, no clues that what’s inside is a sex toy.

When I took the Zumio X out it was in a charging stand that resembles a base for a vibrating toothbrush. If I didn’t know it was for the Zumio X, I’d have stuck it in the bathroom ’till we figured out that the electronic toothbrushes we never use don’t belong to it.

The tip is very small, smaller than the body of a pen. My first thought was “ow” that could go wrong easily. And, alas, it did when used with a partner. Read on to find out what that means and why I actually quite liked this toy.

Let’s Get Physical

The Zumio X is a fully-waterproof, rechargeable toy. Good for the environment, and good for those of us who find solace in the bathroom in a busy house, when we want to get our rocks’ off without the family knowing.

I was sent the Zumio X to start out with. There are currently two: the Zumio X and the Zumio S. The Zumio X has a tinier, smaller tip, that creates a stronger sensation of intensity. For me, that’s not the best, but the way this toy delivers vibrations is insane. In fact, on the sleeve of the packaging the box explains that the intensity level of vibrations for the Zumio X is 6-10 while the S is 3-7 out of a rating of 10.

Zumio calls the tip a “SpiroTIP” which creates a finger-like motion. Sure, if the finger was actually attached to a human-like, fully-functioning android name Data. I’ll go over why this seems to be a stretch down below.

For the moment, let’s look at the vibrations.

This sex toy sports an easy lock on/off button for your travels. This comes in handy for someone like me who usually always has something that vibrates on my person. The user simply presses and holds a small, circular button for 10 seconds to turn it on or off. Easy peasy!

The whole shaft and head of the Zumio X vibrator is stiff. There’s no give anywhere on the toy which only magnifies the intensity of the vibrations.

Additionally, and this is fucking funny, the literature that comes with the Zumio X highlights the “60 second [Zumio X] experience!” It guides you through a three-step jack-off session that targets different parts of the vulva. At first I was mildly offended – they think I don’t know how to masturbate? But it was actually, and this surprised me, a good way to experiment with the different placements of the toy during use.

Materials, Care, and Keeping

You should be using water-based lube with the Zumio X because silicone-based lube can damage the silicone of the toy. Because this is a body safe toy (ABS plastic and silicone) it can simply be washed with a mild antibacterial soap and a soft cloth. I love it when cleanup is that simple.

As a first step, charge this damn toy. One of the worst things that can happen – other than a physical injury – that can happen during a masturbation session is to have the toy die during first use. Lord help me, that has happened too many times for a sex toy reviewer. A blinking light alerts the user that the toy is charging. When the light remains solid and consistent the Zumio X is ready for use.

Zumio in Action

There are three simple buttons on the Zumio X, and you only use on regularly. There is a small, circular button that is the travel-lock that is activated by steady pressure for 10 seconds, to turn it on or off.

The intensity is controlled by a button shaped like an infinity sign. The lower button brings down the intensity while the top button – you guessed it! – takes the intensity up notch-by-notch. Because this vibrator is long, stiff, and has a medium tip, the Zumio X offers a more uniform delivery of vibrations.

My Experience with the Zumio

I tried the 60-second experiment detailed in the instruction manual. After moving the Zumio X around my vulva I quickly realized the intensity of the rotations of the Zumio X may be too intense for my body.

I tried this vibrator by myself at first and eventually used it with my partner. In fact, Zumio explicitly states that this is a good toy to use both solo and with a partner. While it was too intense for me by myself, as soon as my partner was in control I flinched. She couldn’t know exactly what I needed, even with instructions, so we gave up using the Zumio X as a couples toy.

This is a toy I can advocate for without hesitation. It’s made out of quality materials, is versatile, strong, and

The Zumio X is not a cheap vibrator, but the cost does reflect the quality. There are a lot of different types of vibrators, bit most don’t have such direct stimulation. If you’re looking for this toy but one that is less intense, give the Zumio S a try. Or, perhaps you need even more stimulation then try the Zumio E. However, it is a damn cute vibrator.
