When Good Vibrations sent me the Ovation Rave and the Strawberry Emojibator, I was genuinely excited. I love testing sex toys that lean into fun, creative aesthetics, mainly when gifts from a trusted retailer like Good Vibes are given. Both toys are playful in design and full of personality, and they gave me that initial spark of “this could be fun.” But after several sessions with each, I walked away with mixed feelings. These toys have potential, but only within a specific type of use and a particular kind of user.

🍓 Strawberry Emojibator: Sweet as Candy, Not as Satisfying

My initial reaction to the Strawberry Emojibator was one of pure delight. It’s shaped like a cartoon strawberry, bright red with a little leafy green top. It practically begs to be photographed. If you’re into sex toys that look like desk décor, this one fits the bill—it’s unapologetically silly and surprisingly well-made for a novelty item.

I Wanted to Love the Strawberry Emojibator

Unfortunately, that’s about where the praise ends. The suction feature on this toy is where things go off the rails. While it technically creates suction, it’s very weak and lacks the pulsing rhythm or intensity of other clit-sucking toys like the Womanizer or Satisfyer lines. I kept repositioning it, hoping for a magic angle, but no matter what I tried, it just didn’t work with my anatomy. The opening is small, which means it’s simply not suited for people with fuller or larger clitorises.

It’s a shame, because I wanted to love it. I even gave it another shot during a lazy afternoon with lube and vibes already flowing, but still—nothing. The suction wasn’t strong enough to even warm me up, let alone get me off.

Would I recommend it? Only as a gift or a decorative piece. It’s not a functional toy for anyone who needs intensity or depth in their stimulation. That said, if you’re new to toys or easily stimulated, it might work for you. And it’s cute enough to sit on my bookshelf as a tongue-in-cheek statement piece.

Ovation Rave: Almost There, Not Quite Enough

Now let’s talk about the Ovation Rave—a much more serious toy, at least in terms of intention. This is a tongue-flicking clitoral stimulator designed to mimic oral sex. I’ve tried several tongue-style toys before, and while none have been perfect, the Sqweel and Fantasy for Her have been good; however, I keep chasing that elusive toy-based oral experience.

Out of the box, the Ovation is soft, silicone, and inviting. It has a small silicone “tongue” that flicks back and forth at various speeds and patterns. When I turned it on, I was intrigued. It wasn’t loud or aggressive, and the motion varied from delicate to enthusiastic, which was perhaps too delicate.

The first time I used it, it turned my body on effectively. It gave that fluttery, teasing sensation that I like at the start of a session. But as I kept going, it became clear that the tongue was too soft and flexible to give me what I needed. I kept trying to angle it better, to push it closer, to squish it against my clit to increase the pressure. That wasn’t helpful, nor was it enough to bring me to orgasm on its own.

A Light Tickling

If you enjoy light teasing or are especially sensitive, you might love the Ovation. But if you’re someone who likes to grind, press, or use toys that give a firm, unrelenting sensation, this probably won’t get you to the finish line without backup.

That said, it is helpful in partnered play. When my partner’s mouth got tired, I handed them the Ovation and let them take over. With a bit of pressure and some good lube, it kept the rhythm going and helped maintain the mood. It felt like a good intermission tool: enough to keep me engaged and stimulated, but not the main attraction.

Tips for Comfortable, Fun Use

Both toys benefit from intentional setup. If you’re expecting instant orgasms from either, you might be disappointed. But if you treat them as accessories in an extended session, you can make them work with the proper prep:

  • Use water-based lube generously. Silicone-on-skin can cause drag, and both toys respond better when everything glides. I recommend a lube with a warming or tingling component for the Ovation to amplify the sensations.
  • CBD or THC-infused lubes can add a relaxing body high and intensify touch. I used a THC lube with the Ovation once, and the combination of light flicking + tingle made for a deliciously long build-up.
  • Partner control = better results. Especially for the Ovation, having a partner to press and move it is beneficial. At the same time, focus on your significant differences. Give them feedback on pressure and rhythm, or let them take over while their tongue takes a well-deserved break.
  • Be patient. These aren’t power toys—they’re warm-up toys. Use them early in your session, then switch to a vibe or wand for the finale.

Care & Keeping

Cleaning is easy. Both toys are made of non-porous, body-safe silicone and are fully waterproof. Wash with warm water and unscented soap, or use a toy cleaner after each use. Let them air dry, then store in a lint-free pouch or the original packaging.

Avoid using silicone-based lubricants with them—it can degrade the material. Stick with water-based lubes to keep the surface smooth and safe.

Charging is simple—both use USB charging cables and have decent battery life. Be sure to fully charge before your first use, and top them off if they sit unused for a while. No one likes a dead toy when the mood hits.

Final Thoughts: Cute but Conditional

So, where do I stand with these two toys?

  • The Strawberry Emojibator is a novelty—adorable to look at, disappointing to use. If you collect cute toys or love kitschy design, go for it. But don’t count on it to get you off.
  • The Ovation Rave has promise. It won’t replace oral sex or stronger toys, but it’s excellent as a tease, especially in partnered play. It turned me on, but didn’t get me there without help. Still, it’s one I might keep around for warm-ups and slower sessions.

Neither of these toys will dethrone my go-to power players, but both offer interesting novelty as part of the fun. If you’re curious, playful, and open to experimenting, these toys might earn a spot in your rotatist know they’re not likely to become your ride-or-die.Tools
