Review: ROMP Hype, Wave, and Free

Review: ROMP Hype, Wave, and Free

The ROMP Free, ROMP Wave, And ROMP Hype are pictured on yellow sating. The Free is an air pulse toy (oral sex suction toy), the Hype is a g-spot vibrator, and the Wave is a wearable vibe.

Oh boy, have I got a review for y’all. I love working with We-Vibe, Womanizer, and ROMP. When ROMP sent me toys they didn’t send one but THREE and I am so glad that they did. The more toys, the merrier around here. I’ve reviewed a ROMP product before and wasn’t a fan. However, I was very pleased with the ROMP Hype and Free vibrators. ROMP sent me the ROMP Wave, ROMP Hype, and ROMP Free vibrators for review.

You’ll find that I’m a fan of all of the sex toys for various reasons but the Hype presents some issues for those with disabilities (like my wife’s carpal tunnel syndrome). However, the Free is AMAZING.

I liked ROMP vibrators because of how cheap their toys are. While they do sell on Amazon (don’t shop at Amazon for sex toys, you cannot trust them) they also sell ROMP at places like Betty’s Toy Box, Good Vibes, Shevibe, and Lovehoney. All of the former are retailers that I trust wholeheartedly and want you to take a look at eventually. Because these stores carry them, I want to review them for y’all. We need to have more access to quality toys that are also affordable.

ROMP Hype G-Spot Vibrator

Gah, the ROMP Hype vibrator is great except for one HUGE issue: the buttons are nearly impossible for me to press. My poor wife was physically unable to depress the on/off/speed button because her carpal tunnel syndrome was acting up. Even as a wrist-and-arm-abled person, I had difficulty with controls of the ROMP Hype.

For the most part, I loved the Hype. The vibrations weren’t as deep as this toy or the Pinot but they did the trick. My clit responded to the vibrations the Hype sported. I just wasn’t able to easily increase/decrease the speed although on level 2-3 I was able to reach orgasm.

The ROMP Hype is a quiet toy, you won’t hear it through the walls. It has six intensity levels and all it takes for me is the first few. The problem with this toy that could pose a huge problem for disabled folx is that you have to depress the button with a lot of force. In fact, it required so much that I actually shied away from depressing the button too much.

The ROMP Hype vibrator is similar to the toy that I reviewed last week and I just love the shape. It hit my g-spot every time and, because it has a squishy head, I wasn’t scared for my cervix. In fact, I had a little unconventional fun with the head and was able to bounce it up-and-down on my desk while writing.

There’s a self-sealing charging port in the silicone of the Hype. This toy is waterproof and easy to clean because of that. All it takes is soap and water to clean it.

ROMP Wave Vibrator

The ROMP Wave is a buzzy vibrator akin to the vibrations of this Lovehoney bullet vibe. However, the design is excellent. The Wave is a flat toy that fits perfectly in my panties. In fact, I was able to put it in there, walk around, and enjoy the sensations.

However, the ROMP Wave isn’t a panty toy that’s easy to manage. There is a single button on the bottom of the toy and it isn’t a remote-controlled vibrator. So, let’s say we were playing in public. If it gets a bit too loud, there’s no discreet way to control the vibrations.

I did find, with the ROMP Wave buzzy vibrations, that I was able to place it in my panties and grind against my partner. It’s also a comfortable toy to sit on and rock on. I feel a tad bit silly grinding on a toy, especially without my partner, but it did the trick. The Romp Wave vibrator has 6 intensity settings and 4 distinct patterns. While I don’t love patterns, it’s nice to know that they’re an option for those of you that like patterns.

The Wave has a self-sealing charging port in its silicone. Because it’s silicone, it’s body-safe and it’s waterproof so it’s easy to clean with soap and water.

ROMP Free Air Pulsator

I was super excited about Free. After the Melt and the Womanizer, I was smitten with air pulse toys. Seeing this oral sex simulator for this price is just so amazing.

As with all air pulse toys, I squirted with the Free. I knew to plan ahead this time and was on a towel but it was still messy. That being said, the Romp Free was easy to clean. Like the other Romp toys in this post, the Romp Free is waterproof so I just had to dunk it underwater. On top of that, the head of the Romp Free comes off to make for easier cleaning.

I did think the head was weird. It’s not cushioned at all. Rather, it’s a silicone head, molded against a hard plastic body, and can potentially be uncomfortable for some. I found because the head was larger, that I was able to place it better without having to look down past my stomach.

The Romp Free has ten intensity settings and for the price of $39.99, that’s really great. It has a magnetic charging port that makes it easy to charge the toy. The other side is a USB port that can plug in anywhere, including your laptop if that’s the route you want to take.

Although the head is exposed to create the air pulses that get you off with this toy, it’s completely waterproof. I used lube with it to make things more comfortable. Clean-up was easy. All it takes is simple soap and water.

Overall thoughts

ROMP toys are a pretty darn good quality for the price. What I especially love about the three that I reviewed is how different they are and how surprised I was with two of the three. The Hype felt amazing and had rumbly vibrations on the lower setting. The Free is a good way to test the waters with an air pulse toy, without breaking the bank.

I love the Romp line for several reasons:

1. They’re usually good toys.

2. The Romp line is super creative. The toys they carry vary dramatically among the line.

3. These toys are all cheap (affordable.)

4. They’re colorful and designed with bodies in mind.

I especially like the Romp Free and the Romp Hype. While I wouldn’t consider any of these the best vibrators, they are excellent for their price and sometimes that’s what we’re looking for.

    1. Right? I don’t think it’s intended to be worn in public but it fits so perfectly in my panties that I just had to use it that way. Frottage was nice with it in my panties, though!

    1. It’s really weird! Why would they think that’s a good idea?? But I got off with it and have used it several times after the review so it is a great toy.

  1. I’m glad We-Vibe and Womanizer have introduced this more affordable line. Their other products are great, but the prices put them out of reach for many people.

  2. I’ve honestly never seen anything like the ROMP wave. super intriguing shape. i am curious why there’s no remote control option since it looks like a panty vibratory.
